Bush's biggest legacy or no-legacy will be the economy. That is where is real pride has resided. And now there isn't much for him to be proud about economically.

He is the first president to have an MBA. He thought of himself as a wonder-kin in this area, that he could make sound decisions when it came to money matter, like tax cuts, which haven't had the effect he thought they would. MBAers, without grounding in something else, like the law or one of the other social disciplines, are generally arrogant failures. Bush has proven this. Under his leadership the economy has been a charade.

The worst part of his legacy was his "ownership society" scheme, which eventually grew into the sub-prime debacle. Image how he could have ruined "Social Security" if the American people had let him.

Bush has recently began to understand the adage that "it is the economy, stupid". In this area he has really been stupid, with all his wasting of money in Iraq and all. And now he thinks he can fix it was a few primers here and there. Over the economy he is shitting his pants.

There is a lot more to his legacy, like the soiling of American's reputation around the world and the hollowing-out of government. How about his failures in the Middle East and on other diplomatic fronts? And who can forget Katrina and the Justice Department debacles? No, the next president is going to have a big mess to clean up when she takes office.

There is a lot more that I could say about his stinking legacy but I am exhausted thinking about this s.o.b.

Perhaps a positive legacy he has left is that he has woken up the electorate and has gotten a lot of people interested and re-interested in the democratic process. If this concentrated interest had existed in 2000 he probably would never have become president.

I agree with Airth, especially about being exhausted by the sob's presence. But I want to add that his legacy includes millions of dollars into his own coffers and those of the partners who benefited from decisions made and policies put into place. These millions will continue to pour in, tho he is out of our sight. That was his legacy to others, and probably the best reason that he was there for them. The country was a bystander.

I guess, that said, I will say that the best we can hope for is that this will not happen again. And we can rejoice in not having the constant aggravation of the guy continually making things worse.

MBA? he was put into school with donations from his family, and he laughed at a university graduation citing that even a C student could be president. No, he was no MBA. He was scripted and bold.

But wait to see him gone before you cheer.
